Elsewhere, a 25-year-old man identified by police as Ronald Collier, of the 7800 block of South Winchester Avenue, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital at 9:58 p.m., said Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
Collier was found with a gunshot wound under his left arm at 9:20 p.m. on the 8700 block of South Ada Street in the Gresham neighborhood, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.
He flagged down a female driver who had stopped at an intersection, who took him to 7900 South State, where she saw a police car, officials said. Police then called for an ambulance and Collier was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:58 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.
