last year someone fired a gunshot through the front door of Elonda Jackson's house in West Pullman she made sure the kids in her home would stay only on the back porch. Monday night, Percy Rounds, 15 and his cousin Adam Spaulding were sitting on the back porch when someone fired a gun from the alley, striking Percy in the head and killing him. Rounds, who had no criminal history or known gang affiliations, was not believed to be the intended target, police spokeswoman Monique Bond said. But, she added, "there have been retaliatory shootings in the area." Malon Edwards, a Chicago Public Schools spokesman, said Rounds, an 8th-grader at Stagg Elementary School on the city's South Side, was enrolled in a summer program at Hyde Park Career Academy. Had he completed the summer program, he would have started his freshman year at Hyde Park in the fall.
